Frequently Asked Questions
Is my pool compatible?
The system will work on all pools and
spas providing the filtration is specified
to local standards.
Do I need to add chemicals?
We suggest to add an initial dose of
sodium hypochlorite (Chlorine liquid)
to raise the chlorine level to 1.5 ppm
as an initial reference point. This also
ensures that new built pool have
adequate sanitation through stagnant
pipework.
What Acid do I need?
The system automatically regulates
the pH levels by dosing liquid acid –
we suggest to use 10% Hydrochloric
acid available from your local pool
supplier.
How much salt do I add?
The system will also require Fine
granular salt to assist with
conductivity across the Hydrolysis
cell and allow the system to generate
a low residual sanitation of the pool
water. The suggested amount of salt
is 1-3.5 grams / litre depending on the
system specified.
Can I use my waste water for
irrigation?
Absolutely! Providing the system is
maintained on a low level salt
concentration (Pro-UV and Pro-Oxi)
then backwash water can be recycled
to water the plants and grass.
Can I discharge my waste water
into the mains drainage?
Sure, there is no problem at all with
routine filter maintenance, back
washing and rinsing into the mains
drainage.
What is the electrical requirement?
The control box will run off a 6amp C
type MCB. If being used as a slave
system this should be interlocked with
the filter pump. If full benefit of the con
troll system is being used, a 6amp
supply with a 3amp control circuit is
required. We advise that our expertise
is used with integration to existing
pool control systems.
Physical set up:
Plant integration;
Two options:
Slave unit (simply stand-alone dosing and
monitor) Master control system (will need
interface panel or existing panel
modifications)
Utilising I/O functions. Filter pump control
plus variable speed if fitted. Heating
control water only. Lighting control plus
colour change led if fitted. AHU systems
will still need to control air temp and
humidity however water stat should be
connected as hi-limit.
Pipework comes in metric 63mm as
standard although the UV has 2” / 63mm
options. The included special 1/2”
Adaptors have 50mm (female) internal
and 63mm external (male) solvent weld
ends.
We use saddle Clamps where possible as
a preference as this saves time and gives
us more versatility to site the fittings.
Flow to the offline sample Line is usually
taken post filter to eliminate the pre filter
getting blocked when vacuuming the pool.
The return is brought back into the inlet
manifold.
The temperature stat can be anywhere as
long as it is pre-heating.
The UV is best sites post filter either
before or after the heating, but it is
entirely necessary to install the hydrolysis
cell last in line. This is essential for
preventing any electrolytic damage to the
heating mechanism of the pool. The acid
line is injected directly to this cell to assist
with cleaning.
Sometimes the end user will notice that
there are white crystals appearing in the
pool. This is a giveaway sign that the
water balance is incorrect and there are
high calcium salts present. If consistently
appearing there may be more sinister
issues such as the pool is losing water.
This has highlighted many leaking pool
issues!
Water balalance is critical;
Before installation and setup, we advise
that the pool is initially balanced as
follows: Ph 7.1-7.4
Alkalinity 100-160 depending on pool
finish Calcium 350-450
Free chlorine 1-2ppm as an initial level to
identify our desired RX set point. Salt 1-
1.5g/l
Do not use clarifiers as these can foul the
probes.
Control:
The system can be used as a slave (plug
in) chemistry control system but has far
more relevance as a full control system.
Simply Interfacing via the Electair panels
either option of a new build specification
or a retro fit integration panel. Panels can
be custom built according to the actual
plant specification normally within the
order to delivery time for the manufacture
of the SV.
DATA Logging:
The ProSV allows for the end trade
installer to quantify warrantee claims from
the end user by Supporting evidence on
warrantee issue for instance liner at
Yates, Heatstar heat exchangers.
